Save and export video from Awa Aware

This article explains how to save and export video clips when you know the date and time of an incident.

Finding the incident

Select Video view from the main menu and drag the selected camera from the sidebar into the view. If there is no side bar, click the sidebar icon the lower left side of your screen.


Select Enter playback mode and use the calendar tool to see video from the specified date and time. You can also click and drag the timeline to select a date and time.



Export

Select the Share or save icon and click Export in the pop up menu.

  1. Drag the yellow handles to include the video you want exported or use the text field. Verify the selected video by clicking the play button.
  2. On the right side type a file name if this is required for the exported video. Mp4 is the default video format.
  3. Check Password enabled and type a password if you want to password protect the video clip.
  4. Click the Export button to download the selected video clip.
    This will download a .zip compressed file containing the video, meta data and digital signatures to verify the integrity of the exported video clip.


Only use .ava video format if you are instruced to by your support agent. This is used to diagnose video issues.




Bookmark

Select the Share or save icon and click Bookmark in the pop up menu.

  1. Drag the yellow handles to include the video you want bookmarked or use the text field. Verify the selected video by clicking the play button.
  2. On the right side type a name and description if this is required for the bookmark, and select how long the bookmark will be available.
  3. Select the user or group you want to share the bookmark with and click the Save button.


    The boomark can be viewed by selecting Saved Clips form the main menu.




Select the Share or save icon and click Create external link in the pop up menu.

  1. Drag the yellow handles to include the video you want linked or use the text field. Verify the selected video by clicking the play button.
  2. On the right side type a name and description if this is required for the bookmark, and select how long the video link will be available. 
  3. Check the password box and type a password. This is highly recommended.
  4. Click the Create button to create the external link.


    The link can be viewed by selecting Saved Clips form the main menu.
