Here is how you bulk import users in Openpath from a CSV file
Go to https://control.openpath.com/login and log in
Instructions
Export existing users
- On the OpenPath control panel, select "users" then "user management"
In the top right, select "Export to CSV"- Open the CSV file in excel to make changes to existing users.
- After that you must add three rows that are not included, this is where you have to decide if True/false. "Remote Unlock", "Portal Access" and "Send Setup Email"
- Here you decide what type of access they should have.
- It is important to note, that when exporting existing users you need to add an "S" to "Group" so it becomes "Groups"
Here you can assign groups to users, it is very important to remember to put comma after the group name, and making a space before the next name.
Importing users from a CSV
- Go to Users > Import Users (or from the User Management page, click the blue Import Users button)
- Here you will get an overview of what needs to be included in the CSV including examples.
The fields with YES need to be included, and the ones with no, is not required, but can be filled in. Here you can download a sample CSV file and fill out all required fields in the format shown
If you are updating users, you can click Export Data on the User Management page to download a CSV of all users, then modify that file to import as listed above.
Save the file as a CSV file (Excel file extensions will not work).

Namespace
Select Local if you're adding new users or updating existing ones and you don't use an IDP
Note: If using the Local namespace, choose whether you want to skip existing users or update them using the How To Handle Existing Users dropdown
- Select Google G Suite, Okta, Microsoft Azure AD, or OneLogin if you want to update existing users you previously synced with Openpath (new users will not be added)
Will most likely keep as Local.
if you have existing users already, you can either skip, or update them.
Upload the file
The Upload Status field will log all users added, updated, and skipped. This step may take a few minutes. When finished, you'll see an "IMPORT COMPLETE" message along with any errors that may have occurred.
